NOSE SURGERY
This surgery consists of correcting the nose for aesthetic, functional or both reasons. In some patients which have a deviated septum it may be corrected with this procedure. Some patients which have trouble with breathing, for example a grown turbinate, may have an improvement with this surgery and therefore have a better functionality of the nose.
The goal of a rhinoplasty is have an aesthetic or functional improvement.
Every patient has different needs, some will need to correct the wideness of the nose, other just the tip, it depends on the anatomy of every single patient.
Treatment or surgical plan has to be individualized taking into account the face to have a harmonic result.

Ideal candidates for the surgery
- At least 16 years in female patients, 18 in male patients
- Non smokers
- Good health
Surgical Procedure:
There are two techniques for performing rhinoplasty:
- Open approach: This technique consists of making a cut at the base of the nose: columella. The scar is practically invisible.
- Closed approach: Incisions are made inside the nose without any scar visible.
After surgery
Both techniques develop good results, your surgeon will help you decide which is better for you. It is not considered a painful surgery, although will leave some discomfort in the first days. It may resemble a cold/flu.
Recovery lasts around 2 weeks. In the first one, dressing and cast will be changed for a new one, reaching the second week we will remove cast and dressing. Regarding the removal of dressing and cast, care must be taken still, any movement of the structures promoted by a hit or accidente is deletereal on your outcome. Give time for your self and your body to heal to prevent any damage to your new nose.
